Weather alerts for sailing

You want to go dinghy sailing at your local lake when the wind is strong enough to plane but not so strong it’s unsafe. You’re free weekends and some weekday afternoons.

Example criteria

  • Location: Your lake or marina (pick on map)
  • Wind: e.g. 8–18 mph so it’s breezy but manageable
  • Wind direction: Optional onshore or safe sector for your spot
  • Dry weather: e.g. precipitation under 20% so you’re not caught in rain
  • Time window: e.g. 10:00–17:00 and preferred days (e.g. Sat–Sun)
  • Session length: e.g. at least 3 consecutive hours so the breeze holds

When the forecast matches, you get one alert by Telegram or email with a summary. No need to check the forecast every day—Weathergram does it for you.

Weather alerts for surfing and kitesurfing

Set a coastal or marine location and add wave height and wave period, plus wind speed and direction (e.g. offshore or sideshore). Get one message when the swell and wind line up so you don’t miss a session.

Example criteria

  • Location: Your break or beach (pick on map)
  • Wave height: e.g. 2.5+ ft minimum for rideable waves
  • Wave period: e.g. 6+ s for quality swell
  • Wind: e.g. 10–35 mph, optional direction (offshore or sideshore)
  • Dry weather: e.g. precipitation under 30%
  • Time window: e.g. 6:00–18:00 and preferred days (e.g. weekends)

When the forecast matches, you get one alert by Telegram or email. No need to check the surf report every hour.

Weather alerts for hiking and gardening

For a dry day: set precipitation chance low and a temperature range you’re comfortable with. For gardening, add a frost alert (temperature at or below freezing) or a temperature swing (e.g. warm or cold snap over several days).

Example criteria

  • Location: Trail area or garden (pick on map)
  • Dry day: Precipitation under 10–20%, temp range e.g. 55–75°F
  • Frost alert: Max temp at or below 32°F so you can protect plants
  • Wind: Optional max wind (e.g. under 15 mph for comfort)
  • Time window: e.g. 7:00–16:00 and preferred days

When the forecast matches, you get one alert so you can plan your hike or protect your garden.

  • Location: Your spot—lake, beach, or airfield (pick on map)
  • Wind: e.g. 12–30 mph so it’s strong enough but not dangerous

  • Gusts: e.g. max 40 mph

  • Precipitation: e.g. 60%+ or 80%+ chance for heavy rain
  • Forecast window: e.g. next 2–3 days so you get advance notice
